Green Team
The mission of the GREEN TEAM is: To raise awareness in the congregation and community of our responsibility to heal the planet. We invite anyone who is interested in caring for God’s Creation to join us. The GREEN TEAM meets the third Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. Some of our projects include participation in Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day, Rain Barrel making workshop, Stewardship of Creation worship services and educational programs. If you have questions contact our chair, Darla Furman at 490-2301.

What is your ecological footprint? Go to www.myfootprint.org to find out.
“Ecological footprints measure humanity’s demands on nature. Everything we do has consequences. . . Ever wonder how much “nature” your lifestyle requires? You’re about to find out. The ecological footprint measures the amount of land and ocean area required to sustain your consumption pattern and absorb your wastes on an annual basis. After answering 27 easy questions you’ll be able to compare your ecological footprint with others and learn how to reduce your impact on the earth.”

Here is the Green Team’s challenge:
Once you have determined your footprint, we challenge you for Lent to commit to at least one change that will lower your ecological footprint. We hope this change becomes a habit. Recommendations for changes can be found at the end of the ecological quiz or on the Green Team bulletin board. As Lent begins, we ask that you let us know what you have committed to. Please email me at pattyrapp@gmail.com or post it on the Green Team bulletin board in the parish hall.
