Children

Emmanuel Episcopal Church is a supportive community that cherishes children and families. Our Children’s Ministry strives to create the very best programs and activities that will aid in the spiritual growth and development of every child.

Nursery

The nursery program is available during the Sunday School year September-May, Sunday morning for infants to children 5 years old from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. During the summer, the Nursery is available from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on selected Sundays. Please check the church calendar for the summer dates of the Nursery. Our professional staff is committed to providing you peace of mind while your children enjoy a comfortable and pleasant experience. All of our nursery attendants follow the Diocese of Southern Virginia Safe Church guidelines and are dedicated to the spiritual nurturing and well-being of children.

Children's Formation

Fall 2022 Sunday School for K-5^th will start September 18^th from 9:00 am to 9:45 am. We will be using "The Path: A Journey Through the Bible" and "Meet the Saints" from Forward Movement. Students will gather for stories, discussion, crafts, and games that will help them learn about Christ. We will be meeting in Conference room 1.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

This program is offered for preschool-aged children through fifth grade for one week during the summer. Each year our curriculum is planned around a different theme. Activities include lessons, crafts, music, and a celebration on the last day. Tentative dates for Summer 2023 are June 19-23^rd.
