Rector

Mimi Lacy was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, the eighth of nine children. After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Medical Technology, she worked in Clinical Chemistry and as a technical representative for a biomedical company, where she met her future husband Tom.

After graduating from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in 2001, Mimi was the Associate Rector at St. Andrew’s Church in Downers Grove, IL. Prior to coming to Emmanuel, she served as rector at St. Timothy’s in Greenville, NC for eight years.

Deacon

Carter is our Deacon, and is a long term Virginia Beach resident. He is a graduate of First Colonial High School, VPI and SU, now known as Virginia Tech, and holds a degree in Civil Engineering. He is a full time structural engineer at Sinclair Pratt Cameron. He is married to Ellen Overman Sinclair, who is also a proud graduate of First Colonial High School. They have 2 children, Cappy and Emily, and 4 grandchildren who call him Pop. He enjoys sailing, and time at the gym.
