Sharing the Joy and Power of Life in Christ!
Parish Life
The Social Side of Parish Life
What is it like to be part of the life of Emmanuel? There are many ways to be part of things - worship, Christian Formation, Outreach and Inreach ministries, to mention some. We also build and sustain our parish family through parish life events and activities that focus on social life and having fun together! Here are some of our Good Times!
Coffee Hour - Held after the late service on Sundays, this gathering gives all of us a chance to connect and chat over coffee and maybe lemonade, and even cookies or doughnuts!
Potlucks and Picnics - These are planned several times a year either “just because” or for special occasions to mark important events.
4th of July Breakfast and Bike Parade - This red, white, and blue extravaganza is held in conjunction with our 4th of July worship service and provides an uplifting beginning to this national holiday.
Shrove Tuesday Dinner - Held the evening before Lent begins, this could be a simple traditional pancake supper, or a full-blown Mardi Gras party with live music!
Ice Cream Socials - Who doesn't like to eat ice cream loaded with toppings and hang out with their parish family?
Lunch Bunch - This group gathers weekly at various local restaurants. Mmmmmm…
Treasure Hunters - An occasional soiree to an interesting guided museum exhibit, opportunity to hear a speaker, or other houses of worship
Annual Parish Retreat at Camp Chanco - Although suspended during the pandemic, we are eagerly looking forward to reinstating this event in Spring 2023. This is a themed weekend of fun held at our diocesan camp/conference center, with many traditional camp activities, small group workshops, and the famous campfire and s’mores sing-a-long!
Please see the parish calendar on the home page for upcoming events, and visit our Facebook page for current information.
